Did you know that it’s not a lack of technological know-how that causes this, but software patents and other legal restrictions? What’s the solution? Play Ogg!”

- I like Ogg, but AAC and MP3 are open enough. If they start heavily restricting use of there formats, maybe then I’ll advocate use of the Ogg Vorbis format.

"I have no real way to judge that. Check out the Mozilla Developer News announcement reposted below for more details.

Firefox 2.0.0.16 security and stability update now available for download

As part of Mozilla Corporation’s ongoing stability and security update process, Firefox 2.0.0.16 is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux for free download from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older.html.

We strongly recommend that all Firefox 2.x users upgrade to this latest release. If you already have Firefox 2.x, you will receive an automated update notification within 24 to 48 hours. This update can also be applied manually by selecting “Check for Updates…” from the Help menu.

For a list of changes and more information, please review the Firefox 2.0.0.16 Release Notes.

Note: Firefox 2.0.0.x will be maintained with security and stability updates until mid-December, 2008. All users are encouraged to upgrade to Firefox 3.
”

- Just a fix for the same security issues that 3.0.1 fixed. I applaud Mozilla for fixing these issues. Many organizations are, for the time being, still using Firefox 2.x.

The Grammar Club’s remix of the popular hit “Code...

The Grammar Club’s remix of the popular hit “Code Monkey” by Jonathan Coulton.

Linus Torvalds calls Diggers (and I quote) "Wanking Walruses"

This is by far the best story to come out of digg this entire year. But I was using
>Adobe Reader 8. Little did I know how much superior version 9
>would be.

>For starters, version 8 was a 22 MB download. Version 9 is a mere
>33 MB — a whole major version up, and not even twice as big. The
>default download includes a 19 MB eBay Desktop program, for all
>your “faster searching, smarter bidding” needs. So tempting … but
>I opted out.

It just keeps getting better. All right adobe, I guess this is what you wanted. I wanted to use your reader but you just kept fucking me.

follow up: As a side note, Foxit pdf isn’t that bad.
”

Video

Video

Great project for tech junkies forced to come in contact with...

Great project for tech junkies forced to come in contact with the burning death ball in the sky this summer.
